About Nexus Academy
Founded in Eldoret to solve a real problem — talented Kenyan youth with no access to practical, industry-relevant tech and business skills training.
Born from a Skills Gap
In 2018, our founder Carol Mutai returned to Eldoret after working as a software engineer in Nairobi. She noticed a painful gap — hundreds of talented young people with no pathway into the digital economy. Universities were expensive and slow. Existing colleges taught outdated syllabuses. Employers couldn't find skilled candidates locally.
She launched Nexus Academy with 12 students, a rented space in Town Centre and a promise: teach only what employers actually need, hire only trainers who work in industry, and don't let a graduate leave without a job lead.
Today, Nexus has trained over 2,400 students, placed graduates in 40+ companies and become Eldoret's most trusted professional training academy — fully accredited by TVETA and Kenya's ICT Authority.
